John grew up in San Francisco, CA, and Dallas, TX. He graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with his B.S. in Geoscience in 2001 and worked in IT until attending seminary. He then felt his call to pastoral ministry and moved to Escondido, CA where he attended Westminster Seminary California. It was there he met Katie, and they were married in 2010. John earned his MDiv from Westminster in 2008, while Katie earned her MATS in 2008.

 

Since then, they’ve lived in Houston, Texas where he was a pastor of youth and family in the PCA, Wollongong, Australia where he was solo pastor of Horsley PRC, and now Wayland, Michigan. They have 4 children: Esther (9), Josiah (8), Moriah (6), and Miriam (4). John loves smoking meat and loves to try various BBQ restaurants in the Grand Rapids area. He also loves the San Francisco 49ers and Giants, and tries to keep up with Australian news whenever he can. His greatest love, aside from God and his family, is making the Gospel known to those around him, whether it’s in preaching, discipleship, counseling, or evangelism.
